The Beatitudes: Blessed Are Those Who Hunger

May 26, 2025    Pastor Sincere Cardona

Pastor Sincere continues the Beatitudes series by exploring the fourth Beatitude: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied" (Matt. 5:6). He emphasizes that this hunger is not a fleeting emotion but a spiritual desire that marks a life truly transformed by God’s grace. Rather than being a list of moral achievements, the Beatitudes describe the family traits of God’s children—produced not by willpower but by the Spirit. Hunger and thirst for righteousness is contrasted with sloth, defined here not as laziness but spiritual indifference. Through personal illustrations and biblical examples like Samson, Pastor Sincere exhorts the church to stay spiritually hungry and resist apathy.
